Departure and return times on both full and half day charters are almost always based on the best stage of tide(s) for that particular day and of course, will be flexible (as possible) for the customer.
Fishing the flats, bays and backwaters using light tackle often in very shallow water. While these trips tend to stay “close to home”, Tracy will sometimes venture to areas deep in the Waccasassa Bay region and North to the famous Suwannee River. The targeted “catch” is usually Redfish and Speckled Trout, but much like offshore fishing, you never know what’s going to bite. Cedar Key offers quite a variety of inshore game such as Sheepshead, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel (both inshore and offshore),Tarpon, Florida Pompano, Weakfish (Florida Crackers call ‘em “Sand Trout”) and although much more rare, Permit and Snook are landed.
